50 years ago there were few chaperon rules, dating was easier. I still had to compete with pioneer brothers from better off families who had fancy cars. on the other hand the pretty girls knew it. We did the beer joint club stuff, along with some worldly friends at times. There was some heavy making out and petting that went on; this was before the free for all that followed so there were constraints.

I had one serious girl but was not in a position ti support her in the manner she was accustomed to. That came down to her dad competing with me.

Second girlfriend came from humbler background and was a solid good person. Very pretty too. She has been a devoted wife and I am a good husband.

Now I have no idea how you would go about dating. Too many stupid rules. I know one woman who had to wait until a day her husband was home to get a plumber in.

with all the begging of money seems org is lacking funds.

if they are not getting donations, they prepping everyone for the big kh sell out i think.

Are they counting regular attenders? I know some who go on easter and christmas. Others only suddenly need a church for a funeral or maybe wedding

Geoffrey Jackson- soliciting?

i listened to geoffrey jackson’s latest talk “assisting our brothers materially “.

jackson presented some arguments, one of which was….jesus did not stop the widow from putting money in the contribution box in the temple.

basically saying regardless of your financial situation you have to donate.

When was this talk given? The assistance always comes down to me giving to someone else. The most the WT does is introduce us. The arrangements are usually to find some with the means to donate. All my (wife is pimi )donations go to the local congregation and then any misuse falls on the elders.

Is it time to trot out the least of christ's brothers again? The great 8 are not least in my mind

would someone in the know please clarify for me some alleged comments given from the governing body at the recent/yet to be streamed for the rank and file annual meeting?.

it is my understanding that samuel herd basically tells the rank and file that old light is new light and the new light of july, 2013 is now old light.

to be specific, herd states that the official stance on whether or not the annointed remaining on earth, to include the governing body, will all be in heaven prior to armageddon.. at this same annual meeting tony morris iii tells those in attendance that stephen letts' statement that "we're living in the final part of the last days, undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days!

A select few get the live stream, fewer even actually there. The ones being seen are leaked copies. In January it us supposed to be released. No idea if there will be instructions to watch it as a congregation (while at home on zoom) like they do assemblies. I am not "in the know" crowd so this is speculation.

Sounds like some of it is worth staying awake for. I really want to see if anyone reacts to the last days comment. Reservations in another post calls it a sign of infighting. I would think these talks are prerehearsed. But the tight pants seemed to go off the rails.

a few years ago i built a 6 inch snowman on a picnic table at the assembly hall.

just whimsy during lunch, no one was out in the cold.

i thought maybe some kids would get a little enjoyment.

A few years ago I built a 6 inch snowman on a picnic table at the assembly hall. Just whimsy during lunch, no one was out in the cold. I thought maybe some kids would get a little enjoyment. Within a half hour it was gone. Probably was demonized or an idol. Next time it will be a calf if I can find some gold glitter. (Assuming I ever am back there)
